St Mary's Church, Todmorden

General structural works to replace the roof and restore the external stonework whilst restoring the original timber structure. The project largely addresse the tired interior with a complete refurbishment of the internal fabric, heating system and furnishing. The renovation is overwhelming successful in its approach to the internal lighting scheme. Hidden uplighters illuminate the roof space with its renovated beams whilst feature lighting picks out stone carvings, plaques and niches in other areas.



Travaux généraux de construction font pour but de remplacer le toit et restaurer la maçonnerie extérieure, tout en restaurant les poutres d'origine. Le projet répond avec une tel reussite au problème d'un intérieur fatigué avec une rénovation complète de l'éspace interne, à la modernisation de la système de chauffage et l'ameublement neuf. La rénovation est une écrasante succès dans son approche de l'eclairage interne. Les 'uplighters' éclairent les combles avec ses poutres rénovés. L'éclairage ponctuel met en evidence les  sculptures en pierre, des plaques et des niches dans d'autres endroits.





 

Christchurch, Lofthouse.

A restoration project designed to deceive the eye. The main entrance is raised by a floor level to provide a chancel, nave and alter at the same level with the conversion of the existing lower chancel into a crypt meetingroom and offices. The old stone pathway is reused but ramped at an almost imperceptible incline to the new door level, the doors and central windows replaced and new stone lintels take on a pointed form to reflect the roofline.

Un projet de restauration destinée à tromper l'œil. L'entrée principale est soulevée par un étage afin de fournir un choeur, nef et l'autel, tous au même niveau. Le chœur existant est converti en salle de réunion et des bureaux. Les dalles du sentier de pierre ancienne sont réutilisées, mais en créeant une rampe inclinée presque imperceptible au niveau de la nouvelle porte. Les portes et les fenêtres centrales sont remplacées et des nouveaux linteaux de pierre prennent une forme pointue afin de refléter la ligne de toît.

Derby Royal Infimary- Cardiothoracic Ward.

The internal structure of this existing Victorian wing of the hospital is completely removed to allow for a complete refurbishment of the internal planning. The modern functioning of this ward is updated to provide extensive mechanical and electrical function and the provision of medical gasses in specially designed ducts.  New partitions are constructed to provide seamless finish with the flooring to minimise host areas for microbes.



La structure interne de cette aile Victorienne existante de l'hôpital est complètement demolie pour permettre une remise en état complète de la planification interne. Le fonctionnement de cette aile moderne est mis à jour pour fournir une vaste flexibilité des services mécanique et électrique et la fourniture des gaz médicaux dans les conduits spécialement conçus. Les partitions sont construites d'une manière speciale afin de fournir une finition invisible entre le sol et le mur afin de minimiser les zones d'accueil pour les microbes.
